What is the Circle of Performance?

The Circle of Performance is our signature technique for building a resourceful state, and it is the piece of work athletes tell us stays with them longest. Rather than leaving confidence, composure and focus to chance on the day, an athlete builds a personal anchor: a strong, specific state they can deliberately step into whenever they need to reset.

Every athlete's version is different, because what serves them is different. One athlete needs calm under pressure, another needs controlled aggression, a third needs sharp focus in the moments before they perform, or belief when the contest is genuinely on the line. The athlete identifies the state that unlocks their best work, builds it deliberately, and then rehearses stepping into it until the process becomes reliable.

What makes it powerful is that it is repeatable and portable. It does not depend on the coach being nearby, on the crowd, on form, or on the athlete happening to feel good that day. It belongs to them and they can use it in the middle of competition, at any point, without anyone else knowing it is happening.
